Enterprise custom fields and outline codes

Hello,

Can someone please point me to detailed informaiton / documentation (guide
with examples) on "Enterprise custom Fields" and Enterprise Custom Outline
Codes"?

For example, I initially assumed that the custom outline codes is where you
add your WBS, but I don't think this is the case. What is the reall purpose
/ value for these outline codes? What is it best used for?
