Enterprise Custom Fields in Proj2007?

What detirmines *which* Enterprise project fields show up under
'Project Information' in MP2007?
When we imported from 2003 we had a field called 'Project Manager' -
which became renamed to 'Project Manager 1' as it calashed with a
built-in name.
We deleted this field in server settings as we no longer need it.

However when I create a 'brand new' blank project in MP2007 and look
at Project Information I still see a field called 'Project Manager 1'.

How can I get rid of it? Why does MP2007 decide to show me this field
- even though it doesnt exist as far as server settings are concerned?
When a field definition is deleted from server settings is the field
(and its data) deleted within the project database? Is there a way to
'purge' all references to a field?
Can you delete an enterprise field for existing projects if you no
longer need it?

Finally - is there any way to define the order that custom fields
appear in the 'edit project properties' page in PWA and/or the project
information window in MP2007?

Thhanks

Hi
To delete enterprise level field kindly follow these steps
1. Log on to the Project Server as administrator
2. Click on Server Settings
3. Under Enterprise Data select, enterprise custom field definition
4. List of all Enterprise fields will be seen
5. Click on the field you want to delete and choose Delete Field optoin on
the top

To create a new field first decide whether you want to create a field at
Project/Task/Resource level and then you can refer to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/projectserver/HA100980071033.aspx?pid=CH101477311033

Hope this helps

The method generally used to remove enterprise fields from a project would be
to open the organizer, find the field to be removed, delete it and save the
project. Unfortunately there is a documented bug in Project Pro that the
deleted fields will reappear on the next open, i.e., they aren't really
removed. Moving these projects to Project Server 2007 will add the fields to
the list of outline codes. Microsoft notified us this morning that they have
submitted a bug report to the development team so no information on what type
of fix and when it might be released is available.

If you find any way to remove the codes, let me know. We haven't identified
a work around yet.

Thanks Bill,
At least I wont waste any more time trying to 'fix' it - if it is an
ackowledged bug.
