Enterprise Custom Fields Not Saving

M

Michelle Hotz

PS2007 - I've created several new custom fields that are text and mandatory.
All but one save just fine, but one "disappears" and must be re-entered every
time someone opens a project and wants to save it. I've verified that all
options are set up like others that are working. Any ideas?

Michelle,

No ideas, but we have the same problem... Created a custom non-
mandatory text field, it gets added to the project OK, but sometimes
(not always) it disappears when the project gets published again.
This happens for only one of many custom fields we use.

Regards,

Fernando

Just an update on this issues:

The field still disappears, but now some users report that the values
do not appear for them to choose in MS Project Professional (this is a
lookup field). There are 3 values in the lookup table, but for some
users only two are visible to choose from.

Any clues?

Thanks,

Fernando

Chak,

My company was having the same problem, where the custom field data was
getting messed up and the wrong values were appearing in the wrong drop
downs. Deleting the files from the chache folder worked perfectly.

However, it seems to happen over and over again. Is there a way to prevent
the cahce from getting corrupted? Or will we have to continue to delete the
files?

Thank you for any insight you have.

Hiya Jonathan and Haley,

We are running SP1 and IU and have patched up till the DEC CU, and we are
still having this issue...

I've been building a scheduled task to clear the cache directory every night
of every PM, based on information read here.... still TBD...
