Enterprise global issues

When I try to work on Project Server with anything that touches the
global.mpt I get issues such as: Unexpected error occurred. The document
table could not be opened. Contact your system administrator for the database.
Anyone seen this weird behavior?

And further to this when I try to restore from a known good copy of the
global.mpt I get: There was an error opening the resource pool. You may not
have sufficient permissions to access the selected resource(s). Would you
like to retry?
When I retry it opens the DSN. After this,, the following issue comes up:
Project was unable to copy the base calendars from the enterprise global to
the enterprise resource pool.
Another user may be accessing the entrerprise resource pool, so try again
later. If the problem persists, contact the sysadmin, or use pWA to check in
the resglobal.

Anyone?

Have you tried stopping and restarting the database?
