Enterprise Outline code

I added subordiate values to an Enterprise Outline code, and subsequently
have deleted them. When I view the EOC in Enterprise Global > customize >
Enterprise Fields, the Outline code looks like a suborniate and has no
subordinates of its own...

Example:
Departments
department 1
department 2
Department 2 is where I had added suboridate values and deleted them.

Now, when I open a project and try to assign Dept 2 to this particular EOC,
it appears with a minus before it, indicating that it has subordinates, but
no subordinates appear. And I cannot select Dept 2 since I have set it so
that only suboridate values can be selected.

Question: How do I recover this EOC value so that i can assign projects to it?

Renee:

I suggest that you Open the Enterprise Global
Go to Tools > Organizer
Select the fields tab and delete the custom outline code
Save and close the global
Exit out of Project
Restart Project, open the global and recreated the Outline code.

Gary,

thank you for your response.

What kind of affect is that going to have on existing projects that are
linked to that EOC. What is it going to do to the Actuals that have already
been collected?

Renee:

Provided you reconstruct the outline code with the correct values, and the
projects contain mappable values, this should come off without a hitch. If
you change the structures, you'll need to reassign values for the projects.
