Enterprise Project ID in Project Server 2007

Hi all,
We have set up Project Server 2007 and MOSS. This might be a dumb question
but here goes: our Enterprise Project ID is showing up like:
729f5a6a-b3d5-426c-bb00-0afe557af4a6
Is there a way for that to show up in a regular number like 215? We want to
use an auto generated number for our project ids so I thought the Enterprise
Project ID would be such a thing but it needs to show up as regular integers.
Also, is there a way to use that as the url name for a project rather than
the project name?

If we have to resort to a custom field, how do I create an auto-numbering
field?
TIA!
Teresa

Hi Teresa,
For this you'll have to write a macro, either to use a custom field via a
look up (probably to a custom SQL table) or write directly to the Project
Name field with an auto numbered value. Rod Gill's book should help you
here. Or, a pragmatic approach, get your PMO to issue project numbers!
