Enterprise resource view

Project server VIEWS...

1. I added custom enterprise fields in the GLOBAL ENTERPRISE VIEWS- for
multi valued fields (skill sets in an IT organization). This has been added
with a name called "SKILL SETS"- this is 20th field in the OUTLINE LOOKUP

2. Those fields have been attached to human resources in RESOURCE POOL.
(using Project professional 2003).

3. Now when i "build team" for a project using the Project Professional
2003, I can use filters while assigning the resources...

e.g. I can define filter like - show me resources those have

"Skill set" DATABASE.FOXPRO.EXPERT AND

WEBTECH.ASPNET.INTERMEDIATE. AND

SYSTEM.VC++

This is getting possible from the Project Professional 2003 BUT the
same filter does not seem to be possible from the PROJECT SERVER WEB ACCESS

For Project server WEB ACCESS- I have defined a view called SKILL
MATRIX over this multi valued field- in that custom filter option possible -
seems to show only 2 fields for "and" conditions..(unlike Project
professional 2003) where there are multiple options...

Is that a limitation in the project web access?

Thanks,

Harsh

Hi

The filtering for a resource centre view has three fields with and / or

Without customisation this the limit

However with the build team from enterprise (which you can access from the
project centre) you can add many more rows using the insert row to the right
but there are no options to include an "or" options (note the tile of the
column)

I hope this helps

Chris,
Thanks for the reply...
1. Yes from Microsoft Project Professional - I can access the Enterprise
resource and use the filters for MUTLI VALUED FIELDS(ENTERPRISE CUSTOM).
2. But I need to see the same filters from the Project server (Resource
center). Because of the reason that I need to access the project views from
the share point site using the webparts for the Project Server.
3. Now this is where i get the problem- since the filter available from the
project server web access for the custom view created does not seem to show
the filter that i am looking for..
I am looking for filter on the MULTI VALUED FIELDS which allows me
a. to select the fields like
SKILL SET = WEBTECH.JSP AND
DATABASE.ORACLE AND
DOT.NET
1. The custom field in WEB ACCESS filter shows ONLY the 2 AND
conditions
2. Moreover, It seems the end user needs to know ALL the skill
sets himself to be able to enter filter condition- since there do not seem a
GUI that would allow selection of the enterprise fields in terms of check
boxes like in case of Project Professional...

Are there any work arounds for the above 2 points?

Any help will be appreciated...

Harsh

Thanks,

Harsh
