Enterprise resources - and the Group field

When creating resources I want to populate the 'Dept' from the resources AD
profile into the Group field on the Enterprise Resource. How do I do this?

And in the same - but slightly different vein - how do I populate the
'Office' value in AD into a custom field for the resource?

you will need to custom develop this requirement using Project Servers PSI.
