Enterprise Resources

How do I create enterprise resources and have them "linked" to the project
logins?

I have several users configured but they do not show up in any project as an
available resource... Why not?

Hi Keith,

You said you created the resource into the enterprise resources...
however after that's done you have to associate/add a resource to a project
for you to assign them to a task... there are many different ways to do
this... MY prefered method is this...

Click on the task you want to add someone to.
Click Assign Resources Button.
Open up the Resource list options.
Click Add Resources.
Select From Project Server...

Now if you created your resource accounts correctly they should appear on
the left half of your screen. Highlight the ones you want and click the
"Add >" button. You can now assign them to a task and it will appear in
their PWA (project web access) timesheet. If they are NOT in that area then
you created them as users of PWA and did NOT create them as PWA resource.
If this is the case e-mail me at (e-mail address removed) and I'll provide
further assistance.

Hope this was helpful!

Brian... you are correct, all the users seem to be PWA users bot not
resources... It seems that I need to make resources that are linkted to the
logins... as well as others that aren't

Keith --

You need to create resources first in the Enterprise Resource Pool (Tools -
Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool). When you do this,
Project Server automatically creates user accounts in PWA for each of these
resources. If you created the resources first in PWA, then you must create
same-named resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool to match up the user
accounts with the resources. If you are using Windows Authentication, you
must also enter the Windows User Account for each resource in the Enterprise
Resource Pool. To do so, double-click the name of each resource and enter
the Windows Account on the General page. Hope this helps.
