Enterprise standard calendars are needed...

I am working with a new implementation of Project Pro and Project Server 2007
and have admin rights to the applications. I've added holidays to the
Standard calendar in the Enterprise Global file and I can see those
exceptions when clicking on the Enterprise Calendar under Server settings.

Now, when I save a project I get a dialog box that states "Enterprise
standard calendars are needed.............". "Do you want to continue?"

Looking at the Project information I can see the calendar is set to
Standard. Why am I getting this dialog box?

Where are these projects coming from? It sounds like they are .mpp files
stored on someone's hard drive. Is that the case? If so, then the dialog
is telling you it will replace the local Standard calendar in the .mpp file
with the enterprise Standard calendar you defined.

Also, if you are saving .mpp files directly into the Project Server system,
instead I strongly recommend you use the Import Project Wizard (Tools -
Enterprise Options - Import Project to Enterprise) to import .mpp files into
the Project Server 2007 system. Hope this helps.

Dale, I found issues with using the project import wizard in 2007
specifically around mapping local resources to enterprise resources:

Listed Issue:
#18255: PRJ2007 - Importing plans using the import project wizard doesn't
automatically map local resources to enterprise resources

I therefore recommend not using the Import Wizard in 2007.

Thank you Dale, I am importing an .mpp file. I just wanted to make sure I
wasn't receiving the message due to further action needed from an admin setup
point of view.

Thanks Jonathan, I encountered the same issues with the resource mapping. I
am still not sure how to handle this once we start to import all of our plans
to put our EPM into a LIVE environment.

Understood. Just one more issue in 2007 that makes it challenging to use.

Jonathan:

Despite the fact that the mapping is not automagic, the import wizard does
work. The only real show stopper I've encountered in that resource
validation does not work correctly resulting in error messages with
absolutely no indication as to which resource is causing the error. This doe
not have an exclusive impact on the import wizard only and can happen during
a simple add to resources without the wizard. I suspect it has something to
do with using the insert key in the resource sheet.
