Enterprise View

Michael Eickemeier

Hi there,

Yes, I am new to project (well, not quite), especially to the Enterpise
Server.
I am trying to customize or create a view that will display only certain
tasks from all projects, e.g. INSTALLATION.
Does anyone know if this possible? And perhaps, how it's done?

Thanks,

Michael

Michael:

You can do this by opening all of the projects into a master plan and
applying a filter to display only the tasks you want, or you can use SQL
Reporting Services to generate this from the database and display it on the
web. There are no view types in PWA that allow you to display this
information across multiple projects except for a project detail view of a
published master project.

Micael,

You have a few options that come to mind.

The easiest one:

Create a task level custom field called "Reporting" or something, then
create a view that filters on that field. That would work in both
Project views and Data Analysis views.

The other option is perhaps less work, but also less accurate - write
a filter in the view that says "includes" and the filter value(s)
would be the words or strings you are looking for.

Of the two options, the first would be the best. It wouldn't take
much on the admin side, but the PM's would have to go into the planes
and set the value.

Hope this helps,
