Entire Word 2003 document contents now part of a form

I don't have a clue what I did, but all 392 pages of my document is now
part of a large form field. Anytime I click on any text, all the
documents contents highlights. I then double-click it and the Text
Form Field Options dialog box appears.

It shows Type as Regular Text, Maximum Length of 255 and the Fill-in
enabled checkbox checked.

This is a very important document that I've been working on for over 2
months and I cannot get it to revert back to the non-form way. I
cannot edit it and it doesn't print right now.

What can I do?

Was it supposed to be a form i n the first place? Did you try
unprotecting it? Is it possible for you to send me the document so
that I can look at it?
