I am a student taking an introductory, web-based relational database course.
Everything's pretty new, including using Visio for data modeling.
I am supposed to use entity "softboxes" in the ER diagrams for my
assignment. Entity softboxes are rectangular with rounded corners, and the
entity name and atributes are inside the box's borders. Primary and foreign
keys are not indicated. Is this possible in Visio 2002 Pro? The standard
Entity shape seems to be rectangular with square corners (not rounded), and
the entity name is located outside the box on top.
Also, Visio 2002's Relationship shape contains a circle at one end and two
cross marks at the other. Can I omit these somehow (guess we haven't covered
these shapes in the course yet)? And how do I make one half of a
Relationship line dotted (optional) and the other half solid (mandatory)?
Sorry for such a basic questions. Any assistance is appreciated.
