I'm using Entourage 12 (Office 2008) to connect to a server via IMAP
(not Exchange, a system that uses Horde).
In my IMAP account settings, my Sent Messages are configured to be
stored on the IMAP server, which is what I want.
By default, whenever I view "Sent Messages", it has the same Columns
as the Inbox, including "From" and "Received". But when looking at
Sent Messages, all of them are "From" me, so this is an odd default
setting, as is seeing when a Sent message was "Received" (since that
column is always blank).
I'm able to go to "View --> Columns" and select "To" and UnSelect
"From". I did the same to replace "Received" with "Sent". Finally, I
selected "View --> Arrange By --> Received" so the Sent Messages look
normal.
HOWEVER: whenever I quit Entourage and re-launch, the Sent Messages
Columns customizations are all lost! I haev to set it up again every
time. Entourage is not crashing, so what aren't my settings
"sticking"? Is this a bug anyone else has noticed? (Yes, I do have
the latest Updates for Office...)
I notice under "View --> Columns" there is an option to "Reset to
defaults". Is there any way I can Save this view as the Default?
Maybe I need to manually edit some ".plist" prefernce file on my Mac
to get this to "stick"? Anyone else having this issue? It's pretty
annoying...
By the way, as a test I configured the OS X "Mail.app" and it does NOT
have this issue, and it is also configured to keep the Sent Items on
the IMAP server, so this would seem to indicate that this is an
Entourage-specific bug, not a bug with the IMAP server itself.
