Lacinda,
I had a problem with attendee status not being updated automatically and
could only resolve it by creating a new identity. Evidently something in my
original identity was updated incorrectly during one of several SP updates I
did. You can create a new Identity using the Entourage menu and Switch
Identity. You will have to setup your Exchange account settings again and
you will not have local address book or email messages. You can see however
if when you create a new calendar event if the attendee status works
automatically. If so, you then need to export info from the original
identity (usually called Main Identity) into your newly created identity.
One method to move local mail is to simply drag each local Entourage folder
to your desktop, switch the new identity and then double click on the mail
files created on the desktop
Here is some text I posted awhile back:
I believe the problem of the attendee status not being updated for a meeting
organizer using Entourage is related to an issue with the Identity being
used by the user. When I created a new identity, attendee status was
updated correctly. I also believe that this problem may have have something
to do with the history of how Entourage identity was updated. The identity
that had the problem with had gone through several incremental SP updates.
Short story - if the attendee status is not being updated, one solution is
to create a new identity.
Unfortunately, this will mean exporting local mail, address book entries,
etc and importing them into the new identity. A big shortcoming is that
Entourage's Export command on the File menu will not export local groups
(though as a work around you can drag the email addresses in the group to a
note - Notes DO export). This is a bit of a kludge but works (though all
the email addresses copy over as one line and I had to insert returns back
in to make them appear on one line). You will have to recreate your groups
once in the new identity by dragging the email addresses in an imported
note to an empty group.
