Entourage 2004 crashes on start

Hi,

first time I almost gave up on one machine. Entourage 2004 11.3.3/4, G5, 10.4.8. All other programs run fine (Office, Quark, Adobe CS2 etc.)
- only Entourage doesn't start. We already tried:

- Checked permissions
- cleared system caches
- tried with a new fresh account (so no prefs, no db etc.)
- removed Office and reinstalled Office
- checked all Fonts
- removed all fonts except System and Office
- tried to gdb attach Entourage, but well.. I hate carbon stuff..


Entourage crashes immediatly after start, no menue, no "start-with-alt-key-pressed" possible. On console I see:

I'm right before reinstalling the whole machine, so any hint is welcome..

A symbolic link was broken in the framework. A simple "ln -s A Current" fixed the problem.

One new trick with Entourage 2004 is that you can start it up from default
settings - i.e. with Send & Receive All schedule OFF (Manual only) - by
holding down the Shift key at startup - like "Extensions Off" when starting
up your Mac. This allows Entourage to launch without crashing in situations
like this. You could then turn off Preview Pane and check the server looking
for the suspect message.

If you have POP accounts, you'd do it by using your Webmail account or use
Allow Online Access in the Options window of the account settings. Next,
select the server icon now appearing in the Folders List and turn off
Preview Pane.

If IMAP, Exchange or Hotmail just check your Inbox and folders affected by
rules with Preview Pane turned off.)

Delete the message (which actually marks it for Deletion from the server),
connect to the server (Send & Receive All).

A framework error normally means one or more components of Office have not
been updated correctly and are now out of synch with other bits. If you
receive a framework error, re-apply recent updates.
