A quick list of relevant (?) network information:
- 3 HP 3400cl-48G switches running in a stack
- all switches running M.10.06, ROM I.08.11 code level
- all switches starting showing "High collision or drop rates" on all
active ports on a regular basis - 2-3 times a day
- switch uplink ports 49 & 50 show "excessive broadcasts detected" at
same time
- the 4 switch ports that are members of the 2 LACP trunks are in the
default "lacp passive" mode
- tried the 4 switch ports in "lacp active" mode and had the same
problem
After implementing the LACP trunks, all 10 of our Entourage 2004
clients started experiencing crashing issues during network activity.
If I open a different Identity that doesn't have an email account
associated with it (and therefore doesn't have any network activity),
Entourage doesn't crash.
Our Outlook clients are still running with no problems. I am using
Apple Mail and have encountered no issues either. All Entourage
clients are running 11.4.0 and Mac OS X 10.5.4. Half are Intel, half
are PPC, same issues on both.
Any ideas on why we would start to see this after implementing the
LACP trunk?
And is there any other pertinent information that I need to provide?
