Entourage 2004 - Delegate - "not connected"...

H

Hart, Chris

We are trying to setup the delegation feature in Entourage 2004, but keep
getting the message of "not connected" out next to the account once it is
added to the folders pane. Of course Entourage comes up and states that it
is syncing in the background, but nothing ever occurs. Has anyone else out
there run across this problem? It seems to be some type of problem possibly
at the server end, but I have no idea what settings would need to be changed
to fix this problem. I know that WebDav and WOA are turned on.

It also seems for anyone else that is trying to get the delegate feature to
work that you have to set your password to be saved for Entourage to
retrieve a user to be added to the delegate list in the accounts window. If
the save password box is left empty, then after asking you to type in your
password an error message is returned that states that the user could not be
found in the list.

Thanks,

That means that Entourage is not seeing the server (or at least the account
on that server). Some things to check: can you even ping the server from
your computer? Is the account name you typed the exact spelling as the one
on the server (note that this might be different from the first part of the
e-mail address for that account). Are the delegate permission set properly
for that account for you to access it?

Chris,

See my post from a few weeks ago. Try turning off Forms Based Authentication
if you are using Exchange 2003 or SBS 2003 for your server.

Cheers,

Any suggestions for people who don't have forms based authentication
enabled on their server?
