Has anyone figured out how to get delegates to actually work in
Entourage 2004? I followed their simple instructions on adding the
user as a delegate under the exchange tab. I made sure that I had
permissions at the highest level of the mailbox to at least view the
other user's mailbox. Delegate permissions have been set to allow me
to read, create, and modify items on the calendar and inbox. Entourage
tries to synchronize but the inbox and calendar DO NOT show up under
the user in the folder list. The user is listed in the folder list,
but it says not connected next to it. I even added the user's mailbox
to my identity and then added myself as a delegate to their mailbox.
None of this worked. As a result of all this tweaking, the user's
calendar somehow merged with my calendar. Now all of their
appointments are listed on my calendar along with mine! We are running
Exchange 2003 as our Exchange Servers, windows 2003 server for the DC
and LDAP server. Entourage sends and receives mail correctly, updates
the calendar correctly (at least until I started playing with
delegates) and the address book works correctly. I'm starting to think
that Microsoft produced a poor product. Since we're in the testing
phase of Exchange 2003 and haven't gone into production yet, maybe we
should return the software and not bother upgrading. Your help is
greatly appreciated.
