Entourage 2004 deletes deleted items

Greetings All,

I'm having an issue with Entourage 2004. The Entourage client connects
to an Exchange 2003 SP2 email server. The MAC is running OS X 10.4.10.

The user's deleted items are disappearing from the deleted items
folder. Not all of the items are deleted, there is always a few weeks
of deleted items in the deleted folder but everything older than that
is gone.

I have checked the running schedules as well as the mailing list
manager and there nothing in either area that would cause this. We
have removed and re-installed office 04 and we also removed this users
identity and re-created it from scratch. Deleted items still disappear
daily.

Can anyone give us an idea how we might resolve this? Any advise would
be greatly appreciated!

Hi Dave!

This sounds like typical Exchange Server behavior.

If the server is set to auto-delete messages after X days (ours is set
to 90) then deleted messages are moved to the Deleted Items folder. They
will remain there for a couple of weeks and then be deleted from view.
Using Outlook Web Access (OWA) or Outlook you can "recover" deleted
items for about two weeks. After that you must restore from backup.

Hope this helps!
