Entourage 2004, Exchange 2007 Syncing folders

Entourage 11.4.0, (Haven't tested Entourage 2008 for this issue yet)
Exchange 2007 08.01.0240.006
Windows Server 2008

We moved from mDaemon to Exchange. The mail data was imported using the MS
Transporter tool from IMAP.

All the Outlook clients worked fine but we are find that our Entourage
clients can't sync to folders that have over around 150 messages (haven't
ascertained cut off point yet.

These accounts work fine in IMAP to the Exchange server and all the files
appear ok via OWA or Outlook.

We have tried new profiles, moving the messages to another folder with
Outlook, different client settings for the server, empty cache...

Other folders get the mail all right but the ones that fail just say"Now
updating xxxx" for quite a while then finish with no content.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks for that Diane.

Does that mean it is a known issue that Entourage can't handle folders with
more than a 150 or so messages in it? It seems a rather large limitation. I
haven't found any other threads which sound like this issue.

Cheers
Simon

Entourage has no limit. That would be a setting on the server. Talk to your
IT guy. 150 is pretty small.

Folders in Entourage (whether on an Exchange server, POP or IMAP) can
contain many thousands of messages without any trouble.

I have not seen the problem you describe before. If you start a new
folder (one not previously imported from mDaemon), can this sync
properly? I would suspect that the import routine may have messed things
up.

Hi Barry,

I had wondered wether something had corrupted on the import so we tried
making new folders in OWA and in Outlook and moving the messages to those
folders but get the same result.

I am the admin for the system, steep learning curve here, and have not yet
come across any restrictions that sound like they would apply to the
situation. But I still have a lot to learn :)

If you can point me towards the filters that would be
client_App/protocol/folder_Restriction I'm quite happy to delve deeper.

Accessing the account from different Macs gets the same result but load that
account via IMAP or on a PC and there's no problems.

Thanks
Simon
