Entourage 2004 for Intel-Mac shows no pictures

Received emails are in HTML format, but no embedded pictures show up,
just a box with a small red X in the center, and a message saying To
protect your privacy, some pictures were not downloaded. So I have to
click to download those. The preferences-view checkbox: Show attached
pictures and movies in messages, is checked. How do I get rid of that
Privacy Protection?

I have that setting on my Entourage (PB15). I'm not sure how it got there
but I prefer it that way.

By the way, how does Entourage run on your iMac Intel?

A new security feature in Entourage 2004 blocks the display of pictures (and
other linked mail content) hosted on remote sites. Images can be loaded for
individual messages by clicking on the ŒDownload Pictures¹ link in the
yellow message status bar. This was a huge feature request from users that
found the all embracing ŒAll Pictures¹ or ŒNo Pictures¹ too limiting.

There is a setting in the security section of the preferences to
automatically download pictures from recipients who are in your address
book. That should suffice for most users. If you really want to download all
images from all sources, you can put ".com", ".net", ".org" etc to your list
of safe domains in the Junk Mail Protection dialog. Then, images from all
untrustworthy sources will be downloaded.

A small addition to this... a bug in Entourage stops this working with some
proxy servers. So you can have all the settings right and can click the
"Download Pictures" link, but those red 'x's just become blanks.

Here's the status as far as I am concerned:

Sorry... copy and paste caused me to send it early... it's specifically the
PAC file usage that's a problem.

Action: Working with Entourage 2004, SP2

Result: When a user selects the option to download the picture it is
appearing completely blank. If the same mail is sent externally the picture
can be viewed without problem

Cause: Use PAC file to connect to Exchange server out on internet

Resolution: Problem is added as bug. Status is still active and processed by
Entourage Development.
