Entourage 2004 (g4 & intel) not displaying HTML inline images

I've seen this bug posted here before only to see MS respond with the
boilerplate "Turn your images on with the yellow bar, images are off
by default" reply.

We send a large volume of html emails to subscribers of our websites
(newsletters, contests etc.) and all our our Entourage 2004 users in
the office (on both PPC and Intel) cannot see our inline images. Gmail
works, Outlook on pc works, Apple mail works with the same source,
sent through the same mail server and properly encoded.

Seeing how this issue is being experienced by many others, is there a
patch planned, or has this bug been acknowledge by MS? Our clients who
use Entourage will be upset when their content is missing :(

I can happily supply screen shots, version info and source to any MS
support who can help us.

I've seen this problem too, though I haven't seen it for a while now
(Entourace 2004).

I've noticed that when this happens, the attached image names do not
exactly match the image tags. Looking at the encoding, it looks like
Entourage is misnaming the images, and/or that is it is not ignoring
local path references (it should only use the leaf name for local
images).

At least that's what I remember. I've been waiting for another email
that exhibits the problem so I can forward it to M$, but like I said,
it's been a long time.

I don't know if are on a Mac but Entourage does not display images in
e-mail by default (war on phising), there should be a bar that comes up on
the top of their e-mail to download the images. You can have them add you to
their Address Book and then there is a Preferences in the Entourage
preferences to allow images to be automatically downloaded if the e-mails
are from someone in the address book.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

when you say "cannot see [...] inline images", do you mean that the images
do not show up at all, or do your customers need to click on the "download
images" text in the yellow box that shows up on top of the HTML message?
