Entourage 2004, IMAP error 1025

In Entourage 2004 I have an IMAP account set up. When I access the INBOX,
Entourage shows this error:

ERROR

Mailbox vulnerable - directory /var/spool/mail must have 1777 protection

Explanation

Mail could not be received at this time.

Account name: "<account name>"

Error: 1025

This error does not occur in Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 when I access the same
IMAP e-mail account.

Is there a solution for this error?

Any help would be appreciated.

Now I need to find out how to get around this Entourage 2004 IMAP error.

It's not an Entourage error. It's a server setting error due to how it was
set up. As that reference you quote says, the system has to use directory
protection 1777, and not some stronger one. Refer your IMAP server's IT
Admin to the URL. Many IT Admins tend to not care or understand anything to
do with their Mac users, however...
