Entourage 2004 issues

Hello! I have been using Entourage 2004 without a hiccup on my iBoook for over 2 years. However, about a month ago Entourage started to check and update my inbox, all my sub folders under my inbox, sent items folder, and deleted items at random. This is quite annoying because every time it checks these folders my arrow turns into a spinning ball and I am frozen from replying to email.

I went into tools, run schedule, edit schedule to change the schedule without any success. It still checks all these folders at random.

All I want to do is receive mail according to no set schedule. In other words I only receive mail in my inbox when I hit the send & receive button.

Also, please advise how to stop these folders from being checked...it freezes me from my current activity and really bothers me.

Hi Ira!

Are you using an Exchange Server? If so, you can not control the
synchronization intervals.

I actually think the problem Exchange users are seeing must be stemming
from some recent Exchange Server update because several folks have
reported the spinning balls recently (within the past 2-3 months).

Yes, I do connect to an Exchange Server and this issue started about a month
or so ago. Please let me know if, or when this will stop.

Thanks for the confirmation, Ira!

This will stop if we can begin collecting evidence. Maybe others will
chime in on this thread.

Another question for you. Do you know if you're using Exchange Server
2000, 2003 or 2007? I believe we're still at 2003. I'll need to check
with our admin for patch levels but if you could find out the names of
any specific patches applied within the past 1-2 months then maybe we'll
hit on something.
