Entourage 2004 - Progress Window when the Main Window is closed

Hey guys. One annoyance of Entourage 2004 is that when I have the
application running but the main window closed, the PROGRESS window pops up
and the activity is shown...ie updating Inbox, Folders etc. I use an
Exchange Mailbox but not sure that has anything to do with it. Thought I
would include this for clarity that I am not using POP3 or IMAP.

Please note that this doesn't happen when I press the minimize button...only
when I close the main window but the app is still running.

Any ideas on what to set to prevent this?

Thanks.

Are you trying to prevent the progress window from displaying? Click the
red close button and you should see all progress being displayed in the
lower right corner of a main window.

Hope this helps!

Instead of closing the main window, just Hide the application. Use
Command-H.

Did you know if you Option-Command click on any Dock icon, all applications
hide except the one you selected?

I find that doing this, it keeps coming back every time it wakes up for its
next set of actions.

Actually that is what I meant...the red X and HIDE seem to do the same
thing.

No - I didn't know about the Option-Command Click a Dock icon. That is cool.

Red X and Hide is Not the same thing. Red X closes the window.

I like it as much as Spaces.
