Does anyone have suggestions on how to speed up the sorting/display of
views? I have a question about sorting and other operations involving moving
data around in Entourage 2004 Mac in OS X 10.3.8.
Seems to take a long time to sort or change views on a large (subset of) the
address, calendar or project database(s). While this operation is ongoing,
there is little or no indication of activity, but the app is frozen. My
example is based on a group of 1000 records or larger.
It is somewhat but not entirely dependent on CPU speed and not at all on
available memory. I say this because I monitored the available RAM while
doing operations like this and plenty of RAM was available during the
process; comparing the speed on a 400MHz(G3) vs. 867MHz(G4) machine gave
very little difference in sort time as well. What results have you achieved?
