Entourage 2004 subscribe to Exchange Pub Folders issue.

Anyone experienced this?

I'm using Entourage 2004 to talk to our office Exchange 2000 server. We use
Public Folders (PF's) extensively on the server. I've just set this up from
scratch on my Mac (OS X 10.3.4).

On initial account setup in Entourage, I of course have to 'subscribe' to
all the PF's on the server that I want to use (don't get me started on the
whole 'have to subscribe' argument... That's a whole other message thread).

When I first download the public folder list (by selecting the PF icon in my
account folder list) I can scroll and select and subscribe to a PF that I
want in the expected manner. The PF list on our server is quite long - way
over 100 PF's, so is too big to fit within the window and you must scroll it
to see them all. I can then usually scroll and subscribe to another... But
then all of a sudden the list of available PF's will 'jump' and vanish, with
the scroll bar then appearing to be right at the bottom of the 'window'. If
I try to scroll back up to try to select another PF the window will, within
a few seconds, 'jump' back to the bottom (i.e. Way off the bottom of the
list) again. If I try to scroll 'up' to see the list again, it'll jump back
down again. This is making subscribing to many PF's a very tedious process -
just as you try select another PF in the list the window
jumps/blanks/scrolls again.

I think it's related to the initial connection/sync (or whatever) that
Entourage is doing with a PF you have just (successfully) subscribed to.
Entourage seems to be doing something in the background which then
incorrectly redraws the PF list, forcing the window scroll position to the
bottom and off the end of the list.

If I go and do something else for a while I can usually then come back to
the PF list and subscribe easily to one (or maybe two) more PF's again
before the bizarre window scrolly behaviour kicks in again.

This isn't helping when I need to set up access to some 50+ PF's... :-(

This happens in both Ent 2004 and Ent 2004 with the new service pack.

[Of course, it would be way better if Entourage followed the behaviour of
Outlook Windows with regard to PF's: i.e. it provided direct access to all
server PF's (without 'subscribing)' with a 'favourites' function to keep
your most-used PF's easily to hand. The IMAP-style folder functionality in
Entourage is great when talking to real IMAP servers, but it sucks when
talking to Exchange. I was hoping the change to using WebDav as the network
protocol might allow this, but obviously not. :-( ]
