Processor: Intel

I'm using Entourage 2004 on a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz with 4GB RAM.
Today I created a bunch of folders (8 in total) and divided up the 9,000+ messages that I had in one folder into the new folders.
Now, entourage always seems to be in a state of "updating" one folder or another and is consistently using between 50% and 100% CPU.
The issues seems similar to:

However, I am not running Sync Services (and it's not eating CPU, just Entourage) and I cleared out my ~/Library/Application Support/Sync Services to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions?
