Entourage 2004 will not download mail

I have Entourage 2004 connecting to a POP server and checking for email
every 10 minutes. I have noticed recently that my email will not download
unless I perform a manual Send/Receive.

The Schedule runs successfully with no errors, but does not grab the email
from my POP server.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
William

Create a new Identity. Set to leave copy on server under the Options tab.
Test. If the problem goes away this could be database corruption. If not, I
would test in a new User. Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in
Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User
Switching. Test there.

You could watch the network traffic between Entourage and your ISP. It might
give you clue as to what is happening. There are two options to do this.

1)Test your network with tcpflow. See directions here:

2) Another application I ran into recently that does the same thing but has
a different interface.

EavesDrop....Let it capture some stuff then double-click any of the lines of
text in the main window to see more detail.

Lastly, you might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it
again rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Entourage. Combo updaters will install on the
same version as they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean
install.Links to combo updaters:

I created a new account and it was able to download the email without any
issues.
