Yes, it does. But the majority of email users the world over would disable
their email program's ability to respond to a receipt.

It slows down spammers, by refusing to confirm that your email address
actually exists.

If you request a receipt from me, you will never get one.

You may get a "reply" later, but you won't get an automatic notification
that I have read your message :)

Cheers

Does the e-mail work with receipts. How can I ask one?? AL

there are only certain occasions I use Return Receipt Requested.

The organization I belong to, I am their web master. on occasion I need
to know if they received a certain message. And they send items the same
way to me. AS for others I only do on a case by case need and past
experience if they accept them.

Most people can't stand them, feel its an intrusion on whether they
actually read something important or not.

I think they serve a valuable purpose.

Think of RRR's as equivalent to certified or registered mail from USP.
You would sign for something then rip it to shreds and throw in the trash.

That what RRR's is supposed to be for like sending Certified or
Registered mail that must be read.

But, most users don't see it that way. with the cost of Postage and
phone line to send faxes. Email is the most economical way of sending
important mail. Most people think that idea is silly, or don't look at
it that way.

I foresee the time that they only time USPS, UPS, FedEx. AirBorne, DHL
will be around is to ship packages and sending of paper mail will go
the way of Doodoo birds, and buggy whips.
