Entourage 2004_Daylight Savings

Thanks Bill, unfortunately this does not help. Entourage is up to date
(with the latest update of 11.3.8).

When the time changed, the computer changed to a different time zone
(physically changed from Mountain to Central time). When this happened, the
calendar events (those that are reoccurring, moved ahead one hour. The user
did not change the time server, rather he change the time manually. I
believe this may have created the problem - I've since changed the
timeserver back to Mountain time zone, but the calendar events remain one
hour ahead.

After daylight savings changed over this past weekend, the son calendar
events have changed by one hour (they moved ahead).

Currently Entourage is running 11.3.8 on an Intel MacBook Pro

How can I correct this?

In Entourage, check Entourage menu --> About Entourage. Is should be at
version 11.3.3 or later. If not then you can update using the Update
command from the Help menu.

The 11.3.3 update removed all time zone information from Entourage and
told it to use the Mac OS X time zone settings.

FYI, this newsgroup has been deprecated and replaced with
microsoft.office.mac.office.entourage. Be sure to post any further
questions in that group rather than this one. You'll have a lot more
eyes seeing your messages there.

Hope this helps!

OK, I've gotta wrap my head around this:

1. Computer physically moved from time zone 1 to time zone 2.
2. Computer time zone is still at time zone 1.
3. Clock has been adjusted one hour (ahead or back?).

Ow, that makes my head hurt!

Time servers, such as time.apple.com set in the Date & Time System
Preference pane, will not provide any time zone information. They'll
simply provide a GMT time. It's up to the time zone setting on the
computer itself to determine the time zone (the offset of hours from GMT).

Also, calendar items, once on the calendar, do not change times. A 1:00
p.m. meeting in EST is still a 10:00 a.m. meeting in PST regardless of
whether the time zone changes on a computer or the computer physically
moves to a different time zone.

I think the problem is that the user expects his 10:00 a.m. meeting to
still be 10:00 a.m. in the new time zone. It won't be. It'll be plus or
minus one or two hours depending on how many time zones he's moved. That
makes sense.

Be sure that he also has his "Default time zone for new events"
correctly set in Entourage menu --> Preferences --> Calendar. He may
have created new events with the wrong time zone enabled in Entourage.
This setting is important because if he creates a 10:00 a.m. with a
central time zone set in Entourage then that meeting will be 10:00 a.m.
CST regardless of what his clock says later. However, if his computer
time zone is off a zone or two also then meeting times will definitely
be wrong.

Be sure that:
-- Time sync is enabled and working
-- Computer time zone is correct
-- Entourage time zone is set for the primary time zone.
(Again, this is just for display. I never adjust it, even
when traveling.)

Test if new events are correct times or not. If they are then you'll
need to manually adjust all the wrong times.

Sorry if I've confused things more but I think this is the issue.

WOW, your head is swimming. Although not fixed, it has turned on a new
light.

To answer your first questions
1. Computer physically moved from time zone 1 to time zone 2.
moved from Mountain to Central
2. Computer time zone is still at time zone 1.
computer has since been returned to Mountain, syncing with:
Apple Americas/U.S. (time.apple.com)
3. Clock has been adjusted one hour (ahead or back?).
The date and time has been adjusted to the correct time zone (mountain)
(back)

4. Entourage is set for the default time zone (Mountain US & Canada)

Now, here is where the new light is shed.

When I open Entourage and select one of his calendar events, it displays the
event with a header that states the computer time zone is sent for Central
(Regina). Event though the time has been set differently.

Time sync is enabled and working? I'm not sure how to do this.

I haven't followed the full thread, but are yo aware that after altering the
computer time/timezone info, you need to restart entourage for entourage to
take notice of it?
