Entourage 2008 Calendar/To Do lists broken in Snow Leopard

I'm posting this on behalf of a non-technical friend who upgraded to Snow
Leopard and then installed Office 2008. Now she has serious problems with
Entourage. If she is in a mail window and clicks on the Calendar icon it
takes forever to open the Calendar window and when it opens the To Do window
contains mail messages instead of To Dos. If she opens the Calendar in a New
Window the To Do list is empty.
I have reinstalled Office 2008 and even removed it and reinstalled it.
Nothing changed. We have verified the database. Strangely when I removed it
and reinstalled Entourage settings were the same and it remembered that I had
two windows open. I thought that remove would have removed the preferences.
What is going wrong? This is a very serious problem for my friend as she
runs a small business and relies upon the Calendar and To Dos.

This is not a Snow Leopard conflict.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files.

Your friend might need to install Snow Leopard again. It will install over
the current install like a combo updater. Be sure to update to 10.6.1 after
you install from the DVD.
