Is there a way to stop Entourage crashing when I delete junk mail?

I believe this is the pertinent message from the console.

By the way, all my programs are up to date and I have looked through all the
posts but have not seen anyone with this problem since around 2005.

Most likely this is a sign of database corruption. A rebuild might fix it.

Make a duplicate in the Finder first as additional backup. A rebuild does
make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and backup get
merged resulting in total disaster. It's rare but it happens.

How to rebuild:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/database/rebuild.html>

An alternative you can try...

Export all items under File > Export as Entourage archive (.rge) file.
Select to delete after exporting. (Work off a copy!!!!)

Now import the .rge file back into your Identity. Does it work now?

If the export fails, this is a definite sign of database corruption.

Thanks, Diane. I have been lurking for a while and I think you do a great
job.
