I have looked at all the previous entries on this subject and cannot find a solution that works for me. Hopefully someone can help me.
We have approximately 1200 users. We have installed a new Exchange 2007 environment. Most of our client computers are Macs running Entourage 2008. We have a few Windows clients running Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003.
Everything works perfectly with the Outlook clients.
Entourage works perfectly EXCEPT for assigning delegates and permissions from the account settings --> delegates tab.
When I click "add" to add a new delegate and select a user to become a delegate I get the following Entourage error:
"Entourage cannot delegate one or more items. An error occurred while contacting the Exchange server."
Please note, I CAN successfully assign delegates to individual Entourage folders via the folder properties page. However, I need to be able to assign delegates to entire mailboxes, not just specific folders.
Using Outlook as a work-around is not an acceptable option in this Mac-centric organization.
Can anyone tell me what Entourage needs, either in terms of back-end Exchange environment or Entourage configuration, to make this delegates functionality work?
The Exchange environment consists of:
1. Active Directory domain controller on a separate non-Exchange server.
2. Exchange 2007 mailbox server
3. Exchange 2007 Client Access and Hub Transport Server
Thanks in advance. - Will
