Entourage 2008 Sent Items not Syncing with Exchange 2003

We have one user in our company using Entourage 2008 on our Exchange
2003 server. Every thing in his account is working normally except
that in the last few months, the Sent Items folder is not updating on
the server. All of his sent items are in the Sent Items folder in
Entourage, but when he looks at his Sent Items folder using OWA, none
of the messages are there.

Any ideas?

Thanks

within the account settings there is an option to 'store sent mail on
the server'. tell him to check that option.

You might try moving all of the missing sent items to the local "Sent Items" (On My Computer) and then clearing/emptying the sent items folder cache. It will clear the folder and then rebuild from the server. Try sending once it's done rebuilding and see if it pushes to the server (OWA). Then, move his/her offline sent items back to the exchange "Sent Items" folder.

Barry, if this account is on an exchange server and not setup through IMAP, that will not be an option. It sounds to me like there's a problem with the cache of his Sent Items folder. If it's an IMAP setup, then you might be on the right track.

This problem has been reported several times. Unfortunately, no one
seems to have found a resolution. I don't believe Microsoft has
acknowledged this as a problem yet. They usually do once they can
reproduce it.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this fixed in
future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any
Office application. Be sure to include your server version and any patch
levels as well.

I've provided feedback using the Feedback mechanism as I am having this issue as well. One additional detail is that Entourage reports that it is updating the Sent Items folder on the exchange server in the progress bar during a Send and Receive. So it "seems to think" all is well.

But when I CTRL-Click on the exchange Sent Items folder in Entourage and review that folder's permissions, I only see entries for Anonymous and Default. Neither account has any permissions associated with it. That is to say that the Permissions Level is set to None for BOTH accounts.

I've seen the Add User button and the subsequent Advanced button that allows me to add my Domain and Account ID but I haven't done so as I don't really know how Entourage works with our organization's Exchange environment and I don't want to mess anything up.

Does this help? Any suggestions for me to try?
