Entourage 2008 - some messages in inbox are greyed out

I just upgraded to Entourage 2008. About half the messages in my inbox are greyed out, and the other half have the normal black appearance. This applies for new incoming messages as well: some arrive in a grey format, others arrive in a normal black format. All of these emails are from friends of mine (i.e. they're not junk mail).

Can someone tell me what's going on and how I can make sure my mail is all the same appearance instead of alternating grey and black? Thank you.

Normally gray message headers indicate junk mail. Are you sure that the
particular e-mail addresses are in your Entourage Address Book?

Yes, all of the email addresses are in my Entourage Address Book. Again, this never happened when I was using Entourage 2004 - it only started happening once I started using Entourage 2008.

OK, I think I solved the problem, in case this happens to anyone else when they upgrade to Entourage 2008. For some reason, Entourage 2008 changed the default color for all my different categories (e.g. College Friends, Work contacts, Family, etc) to gray. Not sure why, but I went to "Edit Categories", switched the colors back to black, and we're now good to go, I think.

Glad you found and could fix the problem.
