Entourage 2008 Stalls/Hangs

I recently upgraded to Entourage 2004 and have encountered the
stalling/hanging issue that I have read much about. I am using an iMac 5
Intel Core Duo with OS 10.4.11. Regardless what I am doing, Entourage stalls
and I get the spinning color wheel for 10-90 sec. Very frustrating. I have
rebuilt the database, started Entourage holding down the option key, deleted
the daemons in the Accounts setting, changes all preferences as per what I
have read . . . and I am out of patience. This exact same problem happened
on my previous G4 when I upgraded from OS 9 to OS X. For several weeks, my
Entourage was nearly paralyzed, then one day, with no changes on my part, it
simply started working. I have loads of RAM and storage space. Any advice
would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Suitcase has been the most common culprit. Let me know if these suggestions
help.

Tried your suggestions. None worked. I've been keeping my Activity Monitor
working. When Entourage "hangs," it's requiring as much as 70% of the entire
CPU. Sometimes I' don't even have other applications open. ???????

Download and run the latest Apple combo updater. This has fixed some odd
problems with Office applications.

If that fails, try testing in a new User. Go to System Preferences -->
Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or
use Fast User Switching. Test Entourage there.

Exactly how much RAM and free space on your hard drive?
