Entourage 2008 won't show any emails or contacts

I have installed Entourage 2008(12.1.1) with Mac OS 10.5.4 and entered the
required information to connect to our Exchange 2003 server. When I try to
use either the backend IP or the OWA IP the same thing happens which is I
cannot see any email or contacts at all. My calender comes in fine and the
myday app works ok. Public folders are all there and functional and the
global address book is fine. I can even send mail and it goes out just fine.
It looks like its updating but nothing ever shows up. All of my inbox
subfolders even show up just empty. I do however get email on my blackberry
and if I log into OWA from Safari I see all the mails.

Things I tried that didn't work...

I've tried the empty cache routine to no avail.
Created a new identity and that didn't help at all.
Uninstalled and re-installed and no joy.
Cleaned out my inbox ... went from 1Gb to 50Mb ... No luck

Still get the same problem...looks like its updating and the calendar updates
immediately ... emails go out immediately ... just nothing incoming and no
history ever.

I would be greatful if someone can help with this.

Thanks,

George

Very odd. You've done most of the troubleshooting I'd recommend.

Use Entourage menu --> Switch Identity... and set up the account again.
If the same problem happens then you've probably got a corrupted message
in your account that's causing problems. Usually, this is easy to spot.
It may be a spam message or a message with a large attachment, something
unusual.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately this doesn't help. I have even created a new account in
Exchange and even that won't work properly. Calendar events will show up but
no updates on the calendar I make locally ever show up on the server and no
mail items are ever pulled down. Seems like the client cannot update the
exchange server and the rest of the process is failing after that? I'm seeing
a lot of this in the searches I've done over the weekend so I'm hoping
someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

George
