Hi,
Just installed mac office 2008, and ran all updates up to 12.1.4. I set-up entourage to work with my companies ms exchange 2003 server. The email part is sync perfectly (inbox/sent box/calendar).. however the "contacts" folder is completely blank. When entourage sync's to update the folders with ms exchange, in the bottom right corner it says "Now updating contacts" but nothing is synced because the "contacts" folder on entourage is still empty.. Is there something I am doing wrong or some setting i need to change so the contacts will sync? I have contacted my ms exchange IT dept, and they said everything is working fine with the other employees, so I am not sure what do?

Are you making sure to check "Contacts" under your Exchange account and
not the "Address Book" under "On My Computer"?

Yes Bill, I am checking "contacts" folder under the exchange account.
The "address book" folder has my local contacts stored in it from my
computer.

Are you sure you have Contact records in your Exchange Contacts list?
Contacts are not the same as the Global Address List.

Are you Contacts visible when you log in to Outlook Web Access (OWA) and
view your Contacts list there?

You can always try emptying the cache of the Contacts folders.
Right-click or Control-click that folder, select Folder Properties and
click the Empty button to empty the cache. You can also select the
account itself and empty the cache for all of your folders.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Bill for your help.. actually you are right, my contacts in OWA is also empty.. However in OWA, when i am composing a new email, and select the "TO" field, a list of my companies recipients, drops down which i then select from. In Entourage this does not happen... the only recipients to select from are ones that it has added itself, from email addresses that I have received or sent via recent emails...

Bill.. also, when i try to click on "check names" it searches but eventually times out with an error 3259 cant find server. I entered in the LDAP field the server address my company gave me, and then tryed it on all the different options eg) SSL, log on req, none, but no luck. Is there some other setting or field I have possibly missed?

In your Exchange account settings under the Advanced tab is a section
for Directory settings where you can specify and LDAP server.

That LDAP server should be a Global Catalog server, which is a certain
type of Windows Domain Controller, in your company network.

This server is never shared to the Internet, so if you're trying to
access your Global Address List from the Internet then the script you've
found is your work around. However, if you are connecting to the same
network as your Exchange server then you should be able to get this to
work. You may need to contact your network administrator for additional
settings.

Hope this helps!
