Entourage and custom Keyboard Shortcuts

I frequently communicate in two different languages in Entourage 2008 and find myself traveling to the submenu Tools/Spelling Language ever so often to select my language.

I have tried to set up a keyboard shortcut for the two languages I use with System Preferences. They display in the menu, but because they are in a sub menu they don't work.

The keyboard shortcuts only work if I open the sub menu Spelling Language with the mouse first - but this obviously defeats the purpose of the shortcuts.

Would appreciate if you could fix this.

See this page for help creating shortcuts for menu items. I use Keyboard
Maestro ($36) because it is so easy to use. I'm not affiliated with the
product, just a satisfied user.

Thanks for the directions.
In my experience sending feedback just gets plainly ignored!

How can it be for instance that PowerPoint 2004 cannot show a presentation properly on a Cinema 30". Every time an update was released I tested again and sent back literally hundreds of customer feedback forms. This wide known problem still exists today.

When presenting using PowerPoint 2004 on a Cinema 30" Display, the slides are displayed incorrectly. The bottom half appears on top and vise versa.

How embarrassing is that? It's a big shame for such a big company to care so little and provide no reasonable response to its customers!

Thanks Diane for the tip.

I find it just a bit overkill for adding two keyboard shortcuts. Especially as the OS offers this feature and they work perfectly in cousin programs like Word and Excel.

It's a bug in Entourage and I sure hope it gets addressed adequately. It was there in Entourage 2004 if not quite as bad. And needless to say that I sent many feedback forms! If I had trouble whatsoever, someone would likely quickly encourage me to remove any add-on program...

I can assure you it is not. Microsoft is sometimes perceived as being slow
to respond to feedback because its development cycles are so long
(necessitated partly by the need for compatibility with Windows products).
But they do listen, they do care, and they do take user feedback very
seriously.

A little more compatibility with Windows products, e.g., VBA in Word, Excel,
and Powerpoint and more Outlook Express features in Entourage, might be
worth waiting for! ;-)

Adding shortcuts is not considered an add on.

Microsoft does listen to the feedback. They do not reply so it might appear
that your comments drop into a black hole. After the release of 2008,
feedback played a major role in fixes that were included in SP1.
