Entourage and memory

I have a MacBook (2.0Ghz) with 1GB of memory. I run Entourage, Safari,
NewsFire, Messenger, iChat, VersionTracker Pro and Activity Monitor all at
the same time. Entourage (because it is the only Rosetta app) tends to slow
down quite a bit large VM paging too. Do I need to upgrade to 2GB of RAM?
Will that help me?

When I say slow down, I mean it takes 5-10 seconds to select email messages
and have Entourage respond.

Thanks for any help.

If you're using Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4), make sure that the "Office 2004
Identities" folder is excluded from Spotlight searches. Go to System
Preferences, and then open Spotlight Preferences. Click the "Privacy" tab,
and drag the "Office 2004 Identities" folder (located in
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/) into the list.

Since I did this on my new machine, Entourage seems to have been performing
more responsively.

Mickey,

I am using Tiger. And I have also already setup Spotlight for this. I
haven¹t seen any noticeable improvement. I run IMAP (.mac account) for email
with about 30MB of total storage. Any other ideas?
