Entourage Attachment Problems...

D

I have been testing and working with this for a little over two weeks
now. I have a satellite office in Massachusetts, they login to our
server here in the midwest. We have never had a problem sending
attachments until recently. Here is where it gets confusing. Text e-
mails with out an attachment flow perfectly, as do just about any
other attachment I have tried, i.e. pdfs, tifs, doc, etc... Except
for Excel files. If I create an e-mail here in the midwest with an
excel attachment and send it to MA, they get it. However if they
create and send me an e-mail with an Excel attachment, I never receive
the message. It is shown as sent in their sent folders, but does not
appear in my Inbox, Spam, or Web interface.

Now here is where it gets confusing... If they send an e-mail with an
excel attachment AND attach a word document, the message goes through
no problem. I get both attachments and can open them both. The odd
thing is, this only occurs with e-mails within our domain. Outside e-
mails to GMail, Yahoo, etc... work just fine. I have a post up on
another forum and they thought it might be an Excel macro virus but I
have scanned with two softwares and found nothing. I am getting more
and more confused by the minute and have no idea why attaching a word
document would have any effect on the excel file going through.

To summarize, any attachment works to outside e-mail addresses, i.e.
GMail, etc...

Any attachment aside from excel seems to be working fine within our
domain. If you attach another office document, i.e. Word file along
with the Excel file, then they magically go through. Also sending an
e-mail with an excel attachment and another non-office attachment,
will be delivered WITHOUT the excel file. I.e., .pdf and .xls
attached to message, message received with pdf but no excel file.
This is honestly the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Please help!
Thanks in advance,

-Dom
