Entourage attempts dialup when already online

Hi, have just installed Entourage 2004.

When I click Send & Receive it attempts to dialup even though I am
already connected, then gives me an error message saying that the
selected communication device does not exist. Verify your settings
and try again.

Very disappointing when I have just bought new software, any help
would be great.

Your problem is probably with the activated ports and their order. Go to
System Preferences > Network > Show (drop down menu) > Network Port
Configurations. Make sure only the ports you want to use are checks and
that they are in the order you prefer (drag and drop to change the order).
That's assuming you have more than one port checked.
