Entourage automatically marking messages as read

I have 1 user on Entourage 2008 SP1 where all new messages that arrive in
the Inbox are marked as read after about 1 minute. The user is not reading
them, they come into the Inbox and show as unread but after sitting there
for a bit the mark themselves as read.

Out of 30 users only 1 has this problem (of course - it's my boss!)

I tried removing the com.microsoft.entourage.plist file but that didn't
change anything.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hi Ken!

Does your boss have any rules running? Specifically, any rules with
"Change Status"? If you disable them does the problem persist?

Is this happening only with messages after they are previewed? Entourage
does have a preference to mark messages read after X number of seconds.
This can be turned off.
