Entourage bug -- please advise

Something really strange is going on w/ my Entourage. I run version
11.0.0 on my Mac. But lately, occasionally I pull it up and it looks
like an older version; i.e., the emails aren't delineated by day
received, etc., and the emails are old.

I can still receive new emails, though. This happened yesterday; I
received an important email from a friend. I spent an hour drafting a
reply and finally thought, there, this is going to be really helpful!
I saved it to draft, to sleep on it. When I opened Entourage the next
morning, my normal 11.0.0 entourage came up. I didn't have any of the
emails that had come in the previous day, and my draft reply was
lost.

I checked the switch identity mode and that didn't seem to have the
emails/old draft either. I can't seem to get that other version of
entourage at will.

Does this make any sense? Is there some way to retreive that draft?

Thanks,

HMA

This could be a result of you not upgrading. Update 11.3.3 provided the
Daylight Saving Time update for Entourage. You must also update your Mac OS
to get the full DST fix.

My advice is download the 11.3.3 combo updater from Mactopia, then update to
11.3.4. This last update has improvements for the Junk Mail Filter.

See this article "Is your Mac ready for Daylight Savings Time?"

Thanks, Diane, I will try to update, but in the meantime, I need to
retrieve both the draft and several unopened emails (one of which
contained a contract) that were in the older version that popped up,
then mysteriously disappeared.

Any hints about how I might retrieve them?

thanks.

You can try rebuilding the database. Updating might actually help retrieve
the missing emails. Your data will remain in the same database when you
update from 11.0.0. The problem is when you try to open a database created
in a higher version then re-install without updating and try to open the
database.

Be sure to run the Apple combo updater too.

I ran the Office2004-1134UpdateEN update, but it's only Word that
reports version 11.3.4. Entourage, and Excel and PP are still version
11.3.3.

Shouldn't mprovements for the junk mail filter bump up the version
number of Entourage?

Not all Office applications get updated each time. I know it's confusing....

The Microsoft Component Plugin gets updated each time. It¹s the true test
that you are updated. Here¹s the latest Office updates. The OS update is
old. I need to update my graphic. You can download the script that will give
you this info here:

Thanks. I took a peek in the "11.3.4 Update Log.txt" file. Word, Junk
Email Protection and Component Plugin got updated this time. So my
Office is updated :)
