Entourage cannot open/view a delegate mailbox

We have one delegate mailbox that will not load/populate/expand on Entourage
clients. No matter who the user is, with full rights to the mailbox they can
view/use/access the mailbox in Outlook(07) fine. In Entourage(08) however,
adding the delegate mailbox - it never populates.

The mailbox is shown on the left hand side in the mailbox menu, however, it
just has the server icon next to it and doesn't have a triangle to expand
it. This is on Exchange Server 08 and performing a delegate find for the
mailbox. Again, the same mailbox can be added to an account in Outlook 07
fine. Other mailboxes can be added as delegates in Entourage and function
normally. This one mailbox, however, just does not. Any thoughts on the
culprit?

Thanks

I have this exact same issue. One mailbox will not expand when added as a
Delegate mailbox in Entourage. It's not a permissions issue, the user can
open the mailbox in Outlook.

I also went into the advanced settings for the delegate mailbox and entered
our OWA path for the Server address (I put the explicit path to the mailbox
https://mailserver.domain.com/exchange/mailboxname). This allowed the
mailbox to open, but the user can’t see any of the subfolders.

He has to be able to see all subfolders under the inbox because his group
organizes the messages that way. Again, he can see all the subfolders in
Outlook. And he can see all the subfolders of the other mailboxes I have
added to his Entourage.

Any ideas?

I found the solution to this.

The mailbox's alias in Exchange must match the primary SMTP address. For
example, if the mailbox's alias is newmailbox. Then the primary SMTP address
must be (e-mail address removed). In this example, if the primary SMTP address
was something like (e-mail address removed), Entourage won't open the mailbox.

Change the primary SMTP address to match the alias and Entourage will open
it as normal through the delegate settings.
