ENTOURAGE CONTACTS TO IPOD

Hello-
Can someone explain to me how to transfer my Entourage address book to
my IPod? I know I have to convert them to V-Cards, but am a bit
lost...

Thanks!

Hi Ellie.
It's actually quite easy, so no need to feel lost. Make sure your iPod is
enabled as a hard disk (you can enable it in the iTunes preferences, check
your iPod user guide and the iTunes help if you're not sure how to do this).
Double-click the iPod icon on your desktop and open the Contacts folder. Now
switch to Entourage (Address Book view), select all the contacts you want to
export to your iPod, and simply drag them into the open (iPod) Contacts
window. Entourage stores your contacts in vCard format, so there is no need
to convert them.
Hope this solved your problem.

Slight correction:

Entourage _exports_ your contacts in vCard format when you drag them to disk
(or: Entourage converts your contacts to vCard format when you drag them to
disk). Entourage actually stores your contacts in its own database in some
proprietary format no one but Microsoft knows.

For all practical purposes, your directions and explanation were fine, but
we wouldn't want to inadvertently be putting out misinformation, would we?

Oh sorry, I wasn't aware of that, so thank you for correcting me. I'd
wrongfully assumed that, since the dragging of contacts from Entourage to
other places such as the desktop resulted in the automatic creation of vCard
files, there was no conversion going on. Oh well, my bad. Again, thanks for
correcting me.
I shall now go and scourge myself for the next few hours, and maybe even
send myself to bed without dinner. ;-)
