Entourage Corrupt Database

Hi,

I'm running OS 10.3.9 on an iMac G4. I checked the threads for this
topic and they are from 2002 & 2003. Their problems were a bit
different from mine. I can't even open Entourage. Ultimately, it's an
error 4361 and not likely to be rebuilt. Is there any way that I can
recover some of my database?

Here are my error messages:

Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem,
rebuild your database

<Window opens which offers typical rebuild and advanced rebuild.>

Typical rebuild results in:

Compacting failed. An unknown error (4361) occurred.

Typical rebuild failed. Would you like to try an advanced rebuild?

Rebuilding failed. An unknown error (4361) occurred.

Rebuilding failed. It is unlikely that your database can be repaired.

I forgot to mention that I am running Office X. I had rebuilt the
database yesterday. There may be a nasty message (10+ Mb) in my
drafts that received an error 4362 when I tried to send it. I'm not
sure that I deleted it. Then I sent the message in 7 pieces each with
fresh, new attachments and text. I believe that the Identities file
folder size was about 115 Mb. I tried to find out if there is a size
limit for Entourage or with my server...

Many servers limit you to 5MB, but some allow up to 10 MB. You will have to
call or try checking online for your account.

Error 4361

Compacting failed. An unknown error (4361) occurred.

If you are unable to start Entourage, you might not need to rebuild the
database to fix the problem. Instead, delete the following files from your
hard disk:

Entourage X and 2004

Preferences can be found in your ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/

Delete: The entire MS folder and all com.Microsoft.*.plist

After deleting the preceding files, start Entourage again. If you are still
unable to start the program, you should perform a Typical Rebuild.

I just posted an article about how one Entourage X user was able to rebuild
by using a 500GB drive where rebuilding had previously failed.
