Entourage corrupting all attached doc files.

I have just start a correspondence course and my tutor has just sent me all my course work. The course work is in .doc files created on a PC (Finder says Word 97 - 2004 format).

I am unable to open any of the documents. Entourage says something about a potential security risk and that it is disallowing the opening of this file type. This happens whether I try to open them from the email in Entourage and if I save the file and try to open from within Finder after saving or directly from Word.

What is going on!!!!!!!!! There is nothing wrong with the files. I proved this by forwarding the email with the docs to a friend with a PC and they had no problems reading the files.

I tried using Apple Mail and I can quick look the attachement without a problem and I can save the attachment and then open without an issue in Word.

It appears that Entourage is corrupting the file when trying to open or save.

I really need to start my course, I do not want to get behind. Does any one have any suggestions as to how I can bypass the flawed security and open the files? I really do not want to have to go back to using Apple Mail just so I can get access to any documents sent to me.

OK. Now I am a bit embarrassed.

I did a bit of searching on the forums and found my problem.

It turns out that the problem was that the "Partially receive messages over..." was checked. I unchecked the and reloaded the message and the problem went away.

So now I will go and uncheck this box (which is a default setting) on all my accounts.
